The final step to finishing the foundation is to pour the concrete. This seems pretty straight forward, or so we thought. I guess it really was not that complicated, just a lot more work than we anticipated. Things started out easy - we watched the truck pull in and get setup.

Slowly, but surely we worked our way around the foundation, filling the blocks as we went. Every four feet, we had to vibrate the concrete to make sure that there are no air pockets in the walls. Then, we had to scrape off the excess concrete from the top of the wall. Then, once we had worked our way around to all of the walls, we had to clean off the outside edge of the forms so that the next layer of blocks would meet properly. Here are some pictures of the process.

Somehow, there was enough concrete left over to fill the walls!
